So that the price is for your job rather than an average, you'll be asked about:
What's the job — a repair, a replacement, or something newly made and fitted?
What material and rough dimensions (softwood, hardwood, MDF; size of the piece)?
Are you supplying the materials, or should the carpenter?
Is it a straight swap into an existing space, or does anything need levelling or making good?
A photo helps more than anything else — it means the price is for your actual job rather than an average, and it saves the provider a wasted visit.
How booking carpentry works
This is work that's booked in properly — you pick a day and time that suits you, and the provider comes with the job already scoped and priced.
How prices are set
We set prices for everyday jobs. Hourly services show their rate and booked duration. For larger projects, builders send you quotes for you to compare. Any extra work and price must be agreed before it starts.
Your money is held securely by Stripe
Payment is taken by card and held securely by Stripe. Payment goes to your provider when you confirm the job is done, or at the end of your booking’s confirmation window if you don’t report a problem.
After the work is done
When the provider marks the job complete, you have 3 days to look it over and either confirm it or tell us something is not right. We say clearly when that window opens and when it closes. If you do not say anything before it closes, the payment releases to the provider automatically.
If something is wrong, raise it from your booking page inside that window. We will look at the record and help you and the provider find a way forward — and your payment stays put while that happens.
