If something goes wrong with a job
SigeByte facilitates — we don't decide who's right. Here's how we help you and your provider reach your own agreement, and what happens to your held payment.
Put it right first
The law gives the first remedy: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if a service wasn't carried out with reasonable care and skill you can ask the provider to do it again at their cost, or for a fair price reduction. We put the accepted job card in front of both of you and invite your provider to put the matter right. Most issues end here.
We help you reach an agreement
If it doesn't end there, we help you and your provider agree between yourselves. We check the record — the scope and job card you both accepted, photos, timestamps and messages — and we can suggest a way forward. Any suggestion from us is assistance only: it decides nothing and binds no one unless you both accept it, and either of you can decline it without giving a reason.
Where your held payment goes
Your payment stays held by Stripe while you're working it out. It moves on one of three things only: you and your provider's recorded agreement; the default rules in our Terms (the confirmation window, cancellation rules, automatic no-show refunds); or the outcome of an external process — your bank, a dispute-resolution body you both agree to use, or a court. SigeByte doesn't rule on who's right.
Beyond SigeByte
You can ask for a copy of your booking's full record at any time and we'll provide it. You're always free to contact Citizens Advice or Trading Standards, take independent legal advice from a solicitor of your own choosing, or go to court — at your own cost — and we'll cooperate with any lawful process. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
The cost of legal advice is met by the party seeking it. SigeByte does not meet legal costs on behalf of either party.

Provider information
As a SigeByte provider, the same process applies.
If a customer reports an issue with your work, you'll be notified immediately and invited to submit evidence — photos, messages, the agreed job card, and any relevant documentation.
We check the record and may suggest a way forward — it's never a ruling, and either party can decline. We don't automatically take anyone's side.
If you believe something has been handled unfairly, you may seek independent legal advice from a solicitor of your own choosing.
An issue about a specific job
For an issue about a job completed through SigeByte, use the report-an-issue process on your booking page — not this complaints form. See our Terms of Service for the full process.
